Hey that looks very nice!
I was thinking about replacing my high gains with toasters on my black trim 330 but couldn't visualize how the chrome trim would look next to the black trim...
It looks great...I think I'll do it if I decide to keep my 330... but I am also thinking about trading it in on ...

Re: New vs. Old
Big difference. I spent 25 years buying new Rics and modifying them to try to get the same sound, mojo, and playability. After literally going through nearly a dozen, I bought two 60's Rics and finally found what I was searching for for years. I will never buy another post 60's Rickenbacker guitar ...

Re: PYTHON STRAP on your Rickenbacker?
I used to own a strap that was gold leather, with python like alternating black and silver python "shingles." I bought it for what was a good bit of change back in the late 60s -- I think it was tossed in the trash years ago because the leather was cracked and the scales were coming loose with some ...

Re: Did any 365 OS have checkered binding on the back
Thanks Ron
I'm beginning to think it was a 365 NS... I'm pretty certain as can be that there was checkered binding on the back... the TV knobs must be a false memory too...
The good news is that the 365 NS Mapleglo is not as rare! so I can pick up one to satisfy my urge to reacquire a Ric of my ...

Re: Did any 365 OS have checkered binding on the back
Anyway I was so sure I had TV knobs that I bought second source black and silver TV knobs to add to my 91 BH BT....

Re: Did any 365 OS have checkered binding on the back
I don't remember the exact year. I vaguely remember thinking it was a 1967 or slightly earlier. I could be mistaken on the TV knobs too. except when I got my 91 Ric I remember thinking that the knobs (round black and silver) did not look like I remembered them. The all black knobs don't look like I ...

Did any 365 OS have checkered binding on the back
I was pretty certain I used to own a mapleglo 365 OS (sold it in 1971 so my memory is fading) ... but talking to my wife she said she remembers the binding on the back being checkered.
I also remember it having the TV knobs.
So am I mistaken? Was it a 365 NS and not a 365 OS?
Or did I have a ...

Wow! My wife felt sorry for me and bought me a 330 MG BT!
Its now my avatar!
Now that I'm not "Rickless" does that mean I'm a "safe" guitar player?
Shhh, don't tell my wife, I'm still looking for a close kin of my old 365OS MG!
Congratulations! :D

Re: Question on 330 horn sharpness
You might also be able to find a 360 V64/6 in MG, but those are probably expensive as well, though probably not as much as an original 60s OS model!
Thanks for the input, Paul! Been lookin for one on eBay and gBase for a short while via searches with email notification --none so far. Here's to ...

Re: Question on 330 horn sharpness
[...Please forgive the dumb question, are there many 360WB MGs from that era (and pointy horns, lol)? If it had the accent vibrato and vintage pickups that would almost sate my obsession, lol.
Regarding replacing headstock... whats involved there? replacing the whole neck with one with full width ...

Re: Question on 330 horn sharpness
Dr. Phil:
Keep your eyes open instead for a 360WB from the '80s or early '90s. Prices on these are reasonable (mostly under $2K) from private parties--I paid only $1075 for my Ruby WB 6 string, and a bit more for my matching 12er.
Only real drawbacks are lack of sparkly inlays on both and the ...

Doctor Phil! Welcome and congrats upon joining the only OTHER RIC Forum that matters!

Although others on this Forum have MUCH stronger opinions, for apparently very valid reasons.
