HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS SQUIRE

They say never meet your idols. BULLSH*T. Chris Squire was my one and only idol since 1972 and I am so lucky and glad we met. We meet in 1997 while I was mixing Buffalo 66. He was the funniest sweetest guy I have ever known. Many of us here including me also think he was also the greatest bassist of...

Re: 68 4001 spotted in Toronto

Wow Kevin, Very very nice one. The late 68 I got from Andy Winter is similar clean. How odd how that so many of these particular and rare 4001's hung around for so long nearly untouched. Odd because they play so well and sound so good. Anyone lucky to have one should have played the heck out of it. ...

Re: 68 4001 spotted in Toronto

It showed up for re-sale on eBay. I was lucky to spot it as I sadly missed it while it was in Toronto. Seller was a nice guy and did a good packing job. Those late 68 4001's with the transition pickups are extremely rare and likely not many more are still out there. I was lucky to purchase a very si...

Re: Chris Squires RM DC172

Kevin Teeder has posted 5,989 times in 16 years. Jeffrey Scott 36,172 times in 17 years. Frankly I am concerned neither is living a fulfilling life? I take issue with both of their motivated views of what I say. Anything I say they disagree with. They seem insecure around me or jealous ? When Kevin ...

Re: Chris Squires RM DC172

I know a lot about the history of Chris's bass. I played it many times and can describe it well and repeat many of Chris's funny stories. I also know where the original bobbin is. Too bad everything I say offends Pete or Paul or Jeffrey or Tony or Rich or Kevin. So better I let you guys sort it out

PARIS FRANCE packing and shipping

Does anyone know a shop or person who can carefully pack and organize the shipment of a vintage Rickenbacker bass left with a girlfriend in Paris? Shipping would be from France to Los Angeles. Naturally I would pay a fee for the service. My girlfriend and travel anywhere around Paris and deliver the...

I was lucky enough to get a John Hall led tour of the Rickenbacker factory. Amazing place. Very special company. And Mr. Hall was a real pleasure to spend time with.

Re: 1961 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass

I visited Heritage this past Wednesday and was allowed to completely inspect the bass. First, the tuners were not changed. After removing all four tuners only under one tuner was there one extra hole which was obviously from a realignment at build time. Under all three remaining tuners there was onl...
