Re: DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE

Well, I just saw a silly asking price on eBay. It's a clean original circa 1967 Coral electric sitar for a BIN of $42,999. That's gotta be a new record for any Coral product. I'm planning to buy a new Jerry Jones reissue of the same instrument. They go for about $750 with case and I've heard they h...

Re: DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE

Ah, good point. I misstated my point. :) I meant U.S. RI wrt Fender only. The top-of-the line Japanese Fender RIs are great instruments, and down here they cost around half the price of a US RI, so the decision is a bit of a no-brainer. The price difference in the US isn't as pronounced, whi...

Re: New wave?

I was lucky enough to see Elvis Costello live in 1978's 'This Years Model Tour' and 1979's 'Armed Forces Tour). Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds and Rockpile opened in '78. Probably the best live show I've ever seen. Elvis was at his pigeon-toed best, thrashing around the stage, and sweating profusely in a ...

Re: Recommend straplocks for V63

Rickenbacker part sku 05904 is a schaller starplock that is a direct replacement for the vintage strap bolt. You should be able to order it from a local EU dealer. Check out the Ric boutique at: http://www.rickenbacker.com/cart.asp?ca ... cellaneous

Re: Taking lessons

After we get done recording and mixing the new album, I am going to start taking some basic lessons from my guitarist. He's a GIT grad and former instructor and definitely knows his stuff. Playing with him has already expanded my "bassering" quite a bit, but I need some of the basic theor...

Re: V63 on Ebay UK

Hi Andrew, Good to see another recent recruit! On the V63 - ouch! Talk about rip-off-Britain! The ones in Tokyo look rather cheap by comparison! Oh, and as a PS, some forumites would prefer these threads to be kicked off in the "For Sale" section. I'm not sensitive about that myself, but I...
