With LPs coming back, maybe my kids will finally understand what I mean when I say "he/she sounds like a scratched record"....

Re: From Japan
Some of these sellers are major retailers (such as Ishibashi), and they will have excellent and extensive customer support. Others are small firms or individuals. For the latter, check feedback as you would for any ebay seller. I have bought a number if instruments from a variety of Japanese sellers...

'74 4000 Beater - restore or patch?
Hi all, The (re)finish on my 4000 is started to get soft on the back of the neck and so I have the choice of either having the finish stripped and a new clear coat applied or getting a full restoration done. When I bought the bass in 1980 it was totally stripped and beaten to hell, with numerous den...

Re: Vintage pickguard queston
I bought one for my 2015 4003S,, that has 1/2" spacing (the guard, not the bass!) but may not install out of fear of opening up that cavity so close to the edge of the body. It looks great. I'm still unclear what you don't like about that pic... I imagine sunlight may not have been the best en...

It concerns me that the tips of the rods do not appear to be even, suggesting one rod may have migrated up its channel. are you able to see inspect the anchor nuts at the base of the neck?

Re: Eliminating burp and mwah with a cap?
Maybe one or both of the pickups are too high. I had this happen with the Lollar HS pickup on my V63. It has quite low output and the guy who installed it tried to match the volume with the hot neck toaster and set it way high. Burp city..... I lowered it and live with the imbalanced volume, which i...
