Re: Ibanez Tube Screamer TS-9
I have a small assortment of dist and OD's. For the tube screamer specifically, I would recommend the MAXON OD9. It's more transparent, has a little more gain and it's true bypass. You can get them for about $100 used. All of the tube screamers I've tried were dull and lifeless (even the coveted vin...

Counterfeit Beatles Stereo Box Set on eBay
I picked up the Beatles Stereo Box Set on eBay last week, it was new and sealed but looked a shabby and sloppily put together, the books were in the sleeves upside down and the packaging just looked cheap compared to my expectations. Thankfully the music sounded fine so I didn't think to much about ...

Re: Neck Angle Question
My current 370/12, reversed angle...slight...but reversed. Action is great for me, bridge still has adjustment room, but you can see from the attached pic that the strings angle back toward the body...not away from it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/modconsf/370bridge.jpg There are no finis...

Re: Bridge adjustment - tilting forward?
It won't do any harm to leave the bridge as it is nor will it be a big deal if you level it out a bit. If you decide to level it keep in mind you may have to push the bridge back into place because of the strings downward pressure. If the intonation is off you will need to move the saddles forward a...

Re: 6.9K Toaster ?
I've considered unwinding one of my converted higain/toaster coils to around 5k just to see what it's like. I've considered a 5-6k coil for the bridge too. Hmmmm........ Someone on the other Ric forum has done that. In theory it should sound like a lower output high gain and maybe a little thinner....

Re: 6.9K Toaster ?
No need to trash it, It may just need to be calibrated or a new battery. If it's still not accurate it still has value as a go/no go meter with your readings being plus or minus 10 or 20 percent.
