Great news, Peter. That amp will probably last you another 30 years. I intend on using my '74 Super Reverb that long as well. Enjoy !

My 480 sounds great through my '74 Fender Super Reverb (silver face that has ben modded to blackface specs). Just wish I could crank the amp more often, but it still sounds so sweet at lower volumes also.

Peter: the 12AT7 you replaced is probably the phase inverter (right next to the 4 power tubes). The Twin Reverb has a solid state rectifier. This link has a wealth of information about vintage Fender tube amps.

The nail polish solution works terrific ! I too had the same exact problem; followed Mark the MD's advice about the CLEAR nail polish, and my bridge screws have not budged since. Try it - you'll like it.

My 480 sounds terrific through my blackfaced '74 Fender Super Reverb. It also rips through a Lectrosonics Maxi Mouse. I too have been contemplating a 650 series; since burgandy is the 2002 color maybe I'll get a companion for my burgandy 480.

Thanks Peter and to Terry. That is one beautiful guitar. I had heard about the Lightshows back in the 70's when I got my 1st 480. Never saw other than a picture of one until the other night.
