A friend of mine just picked up a GEM that looks like the TR7 and was asking me if it's Rickenbacker. So is it a Rickenbacker relabeled as GEM or was someone making the amps for Rickenbacker?

I usually just peak in every once in awhile and don't always post, usually more in the winter as summer gets busy and I'm less on the computer.

So I guess one will fit on a 480. BTW Erik, I took the 0.0047 cap out of 2 of my 480's. They lost some of the additional chime I got in the middle position (toaster and HB togeter) that was such a sweet sound, but now its much more functional in the bridge position, so it was a bit of a trade off. ...

Now that you've had some time to break them in, how does the H75 compare to the F70 overall? Would you still consider the F70 more like the old Purple Hiwatt Fanes or does the H75 strike you as more like them? You've also steered me towards the WGS ET90 and now i'm leaning that way for my 2x12 cab f...

Actually I could but opted not to. I kind of looked at it like the front was the outside of the plane and the wood was the inside.

I usually start showing up more during the winter as my spring, summer, and fall are usually busy and I'm away from the PC.

.... While *I* like the sound of an overdriven scatterwound, most (non forum members/Rick players) don't. Many folks in the Ric community will agree with me. That said, while an overdriven Scat sounds good, it's no match for and easier to obtain with the hot toasters. The scatterwounds have less so...

Totally agree that the hot toasters sound great on 6's but not so hot on 12's.

Possibly Burgundyglo but that may be the stage lights.

My '73 480 MG and '75 480 AG have their original bridges and it's odd that the '73 has a flatter radius fretboard with a bridge cut for a slight radius and the '75 has a little more radius to the fretboard and the bridge is cut for a flat radius. This is all visual and I really don't notice a differ...
