Thanx guys for all the comments about the 'Burg beast of 75. Been with me from new. Just tellin Nate .... has a far purer ringy sound than any 4001 I've ever heard or played. How do you guys feel about the difference in the sound of 4000/4001 ? Interested to hear your experiences.

Hi Jeff ..... no its translucent. Grain easily visible too. A guy from Rick head office reckons that 'ruby' is opaque and that 'burgundy glo' can greatly vary. Trouble is if I solve this colour question it means I've lost another excuse for checking out other Ricks in music shops ;-)

Colour Question

Hi everyone .. I've had my Ricky (reg Oct 75) from new. Love it madly but I have never been able to put a name to the colour ! It has no yellow, is too light for Burgundy and according to the lists ..... Ruby was'nt introduced until the 80's ...............Aaaagh can anyone pls help?
