Re: World's first 4001c64 /w gold guards!

Just the pickguard.

The TRC and knobs are original ric parts, the pickguard was made by pickguardian to match the TRC.

Yea.... I can't think of a hotter bass than a '59 Ric 4000 - honestly in fireglo OR mapleglo. I'd take whichever I could get my hands on. :D

Re: World's first 4001c64 /w gold guards!

I'm surprised you guys aren't diggin on the oven knobs! The knobs complete it for me mainly because I also have 2 rics with the standard vintage style knobs.

Thanks for the kind words!

Re: World's first 4001c64 /w gold guards!

Nah, they stick ever so slightly, but I'm only ever going to use the tone knob for my bridge pickup anyways... and for the music I use this bass for- that's pretty much never. :D

Where to find gold plastic?

Hi Paul,

I noticed on an acoustic ric bass (quite awhile ago) you had a gold Truss rod Cover made up. Mind if I ask where you had that done?

Thanks!

What to put in last rickenbacker transonic 30" cabinet?

So I'll be getting the 3rd (unloaded) cabinet in a few weeks, and I'm going to cut a new baffle and mount some neodynium speakers, put real castors on it and have a gigging cabinet. The problem is... what to put in it?!

Some things you all should know beforehand:

1. I play in the loudest band in ...

Re: Transonic 70??

The 200 is the loud?

My current bass setup is 700 tube watts -> 6 15's.... so I know loud pretty well, but I'd LOVE to have a go on a Transonic 200!

How does the 70 differ sonically from the 100 and 200? I would just assume it's a little thinner and brighter than the 100 and 200, but I have no ...
