Re: New 4003/4003S Neck Profile

53167223341_5104af9e55_o.jpeg I purchased 2 new Rics end of 2023, an Autumnglo 4003 checkered binding satin finish, the neck profile is a flat D shape and is so skinny, the best Rickenbacker I have owned for playability, the satin fretboard and rear of the neck are incredible, sounds fantastic, was...

Re: Will Roto Swing Bass 66 strings really destroy frets?

Stopped using these Strings a long time ago , too may duds in a packet, and they don't last long at all !!! best strings i have found for the 4003 are from Dean Markley Blue steels and the Helix SS strings sound awesome and last for a good while, much longer than Roto sound swing 66 Strings.

Re: MESA and RICKS

I use a Mesa 4x12 vintage cab 4 ohm 1000w with a TC BH-550 amp and it sounds superb, and plenty of power in reserve. Plus they have tone prints you can download and they make a huge difference. I only play Rics.

Re: Bridge pickup is off center

Most of the pickups that Rickenbacker instal are like that , they think because it is under the pickup cover they can get away with it, it is just sloppy work, i have had to fix this for many Ric owners in the uk, when you loosen the screws it is quite tough when you straighten the pickup it has a t...

Re: 1980's 4003 - Weak E string?

Also check the bridge and nut, the string is not being choked either end i have seen this before on weak E strings, i would not recommend mucking around with the old pole pieces, that is a failure waiting to happen. if it is so bad and nothing helps, swap the bridge pickup for an adjustable pickup ....

Re: "New, improved" Rotosounds?

Disappointing the Rotosounds , i used nothing else for decades , but too many dud E strings, the new foil pack is even worse, i was sent replacements from Rotosound they were dud also, i stick with my Dean Markley's now , they sound great every single time, i get mine from Germany at a good price.

Re: SLOPPY WORK NEW 4003

Dane, service is not the issue here , i am complaining about the bass leaving the factory faulty in the first place, so get it straight what i am actually moaning about , you don't live in the Uk, so you will not be aware of how bad service is here for Ric products. i have dealt with Rossetti before...

Re: SLOPPY WORK NEW 4003

Some great words above, you know, I love playing these basses and the sound is totally unique that is why i play them, i have owned nearly 30 Rickenbacker's in my 54 years, i have had several problems with new 4003's but because you like the product you tend to let it pass and deal with it, i think ...
