Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!

4005s_2385_med .jpg Probably a silly question, but what's up with the guard on the bass 2nd from the left? That was my bass - as I recall, there was a crack running between the pickups and the large pickguard was covering it up. Note that in the photo, it is also fretless. Dale fixed it up and it w...

Re: Rickenbacker.com has been offline recently

So, my new 325c64 arrived today. No Owners Manual included - gives you a QR code to access Owner's Manual. Click on QR code and what do I get? The website that isn't working. Is it unreasonable to expect to either have an Owners Manual included with the guitar or a QR code that actually takes me to...

Re: Who uses the damper?

I did, until I realised that I could stick together several layers of the adhesive sponge displayed in the link below, until reaching the desired height. Then you can apply it and take it away in 2 seconds, as needed https://www.leroymerlin.it/guide-alla-scelta/come-scegliere-paraspifferi-e-guarniz...

The first photo is of a Fender Coronado XII, the second is a Fender XII.

Re: 300 series return to 21 frets

Everyone seems to focus on the aesthetics of the new 21-fret models. Personally, I see no improvement, per se, of 21 frets. If anything, with 53 years of history behind the 24-fret versions, and me looking at my own 24-fret Ric's for the past 19 years, the new versions look a bit odd to me. That be...

Re: The Carpenters - You'll Love Me [1967]

Obviously it's tough to tell, but it reminds me a little more of a Fender XII. I'm hearing the "traditional" octave-first stringing (as compared to a Rick), and it does sound a little darker to my ears.

This! No question.

If you want/need hard proof, RIC CS can provide that if you give them the serial number.

“Ostrich” tuning. All strings tuned to the same pitch.

Re: New Rick Owner - not so happy so far....

Out of curiosity, can you post a photo showing the break angle?

For what it’s worth, while it takes away from the whole quintessential Rickenbacker thing, I’ve always thought this was a surprisingly cool look.

Re: Who wants to see an original 4001SB (B series 4001!)

I heard (or read) somewhere that the B series was the first attempt by ANY guitar manufacturer to try marketing a "vintage" instrument. I think Fender and others with their "relic" series came later. Not quite. Gibson released their “Heritage” Les Paul in 1980; Fender’s “America...

It’s on Ben’s IG account, which is private. If you don’t follow him you won’t be able to see it.

It’s not the XC, it’s a real deal 4005.

Re: Rich Robinson Rickenbacker Model

That is a Rose Morris model 3262. Many of these were built as 12-strings but converted to 6-strings (by Rickenbacker) via plugs in the headstock channels. Those are Van Ghent tuners. Several were sold through the Italian distributor Saporetti & Cappelli.

Try flatwounds and/or rolling off the brightness.
