Thanks for the quick response!
The reason that I asked is that there are modern versions of the gapless 'C' magnet pickups that are truly magnetic, and that resemble those so pervasive years ago in many brands of lapsteels (Fenders, etc.)

Red rocks looks a lot like The Gorge in WA, on the Columbia River. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gorge_Amphitheatre Best Rush show I ever saw. In the middle of nowhere, scenic, great sound.
