Re: Desparately seeking..

My six string is from 1980. Pretty rare to find and I'm very happy to have it.

They do gain a sheen with age and using a polish to clean them.

But a closer look shows the matte finish.

Re: Something missing here?

They are correct, same as mine. Looks like they have been over tightened and have cracked the finish

Re: Is this a fake?

The body looks real enough to me (although the finish looks to be dulled and clouded with the wrong polish). The pickguard and switch also look like factory, so assuming the harness is too. All the other parts look like aftermarket replacements, apart from the truss rod cover which looks to be a Ric...

Re: are these vintage toasters? '82 360/12 content

Two facts you gents might not be aware of: 1.) Foam rings were standard from around 1970 until the mid-1980s, regardless of pickup type. See photo below of my '72 330/12 with original toasters. Re: Real or Fake?

Hello Peter. The bass looks real to me. Looks like all of the visible original parts have been replaced (with the exception of the jack plate and screws...maybe the control knobs too) and, as you say, the frets have been removed.
