Re: Rose Morris Rickenbacker Gallery

The Rose Morris that I had and started this thread with (March ‘64 1998) was eventually joined by the one that I wanted in this thread (January ‘64 1997). They look pretty good together, but only one was lucky enough to be selected for the new Rickenbacker book by Martin and Paul Kelly - ‘Rickenback...

Re: 330/6 Not as bright sounding as expected

Your hi gain pickups are wound much hotter than Weller's early seventies ones. They produce a much darker tone to begin with. It'll be quite difficult to get that sound by changing the pots only. Unwinding them to 7 or 8 kOhm should clear that up. Thanks for that Wim, I'll bear it in mind. Regards,...

Re: Rickenbacker from Japan

Wow Mark. That’s amazing, never seen anybody ship a guitar without a cardboard box! Cheap bastards... that’s pretty sad. It was pretty shocking to see Collin, but I have had one other sent like that in the UK. Both times the guitars arrived in absolutely fine shape with hardly a mark on the...

Re: Rickenbacker from Japan

If I get really bored one day I'm going to find one of those guitars that 4 or 5 people are trying to sell, and hit the BIN's on all of them at once just to see what happens! Well the BIN is also pay it now, so it would be a costly experiment Jason. As to what will happen...four of the seller...

Re: Craig Witty R.I.P.

That is sad news. Craig had a great appetite for the factory “one-offs” and caused a real buzz of excitement around their release. I bought one guitar from Craig when he patiently honoured my first dibs, despite the clamour for it. I liked that he did that. It turned out to be a cracker. Thank you C...

Thanks Rudy.

Colour hues vary over the years, but I really like the dark ones. For comparison, here's Autumglo, Walnut and Fireglo (all 1980).
