First I just have to comment about this from Elnjaybass:
I missed the Sterling and it's great MM pup and pre so much I bought another, this time natural ahs, tort p/g wwith the new compensated nut- Ahhhhhh! ( Except for the **&^% DARN weaker-response G-String which EB/MM fans are in denial about ...

Re: Hipshot Does It Again....
I have seen this pic before! How's it workin out?
Took a while to get back around here bro...
And it be working very well indeed!!! 'Smatter of fact it'll be coming out with me to tonight's gig. I just got my old GK800RB back from the shop and am anxious to hear it with this bass.

Re: Bass Rigs
I've been using an Aguilar 212 cabinet (4 ohms, 600 watts) for several years. Going smaller would be nice but, for one thing, I don't have the room in my apartment to store several cabinets and second we do a lot of outdoor things in the summer and I need something that'll push some air when I need ...

Hipshot Does It Again....
A few months ago I picked up this '86 4003 and I really enjoy it. As nice as it is stock, I am a perpetual tweaker and, after looking at the Hipshot drop-in replacement bridges, decided to go for one. I went with the brass model because I came through the glorious Brass Age in the 70's, when every ...

Re: Korean Epiphone Thunderbird IV
I have been tempted to buy a TBird after playing one. They're surprisingly good to play and feel, sound, rock solid. If they make a set-neck model I'd have to surrender. They(Gibson) do - they're the Studio series. Set neck vs neck thru and they're about $700 less.

Re: Fender Plastic finish - true?
I just found this thread and thought this would provide some interesting reading. I am not an expert by any means but this guy provides a lot of info, and a good friend of mine who is a licensed vintage instrument dealer/specialist in in agreement.

Re: Pics of you playing your NON-Rickenbackers!
Every so often I have the opprtunity to take the '66 Jazz out for a spin. It sounds wonderful and is a joy to play. I'm lucky enough to have a bass that exemplifies all the "vintage" hype. I've got a number of modern Jazz variants and they're all excellent in their own right, but none of them sound ...

That's a rip Tony!!!! As long as you're not wearing plaid shorts with black nylon socks up to your knees you should be okay.I'm in "God's waiting room", Florida!
Though I won't have the Ric on every gig I'll do what I can to ease your homesickness.

For those of you who got such a kick out the Hempstead stage in my first pic, here's another from last week, also in LungEyeland. We were positive we'd be rained out - it actually held off until I was nearly home. On a clear night we'll get nearly a thousand people up on the Boardwalk.

Ground Question
I know - just look down... :?
But seriously - I have recently acquired an '86 4003 and since I can't play it with the pickup cover in place I have decided to try out the plastic surround that Pickguardian makes. I may rig up a finger rest on it.
My question is this - I noticed when assembling and ...
