Re: 1964 hofner violin bass..value?

There have been a couple of 65/66 Hofners go for around 2500.00. It seems like the 64 would be worth more than them. The good 65/66 basses are getting harder to find also.

I was reading about the last concert, it said that when they finished the last song that they turned around and took a group picture because they knew that it was there last concert. Has anyone ever seen this picture ? Or is it not true ?

With the large pu surrounds it kind of reminds me of a 65 Beatle Bass that has the raised logo. A little paint on the switches would finish it off very nice.

Didn't Ringo walk out around this time? Maybe he had just came back and they wanted him to feel that his songs were important too.

I bought a 65 Hofner in 1983 for 200.00. I still am kicking myself for trading it in for a drum set two years later.

I agree , I havn't read all of the book for many years, but just from skimming through it tonight he did say things in the interviews and then say the opposite. It is a interesting book, I think I am going to try to find the time to read the book again.

I found it in the book, The PlayBoy Interviews. They are talking about getting credit on who wrote what songs. But on the very next page he kind of softens the comment. It's a good book.

I think that I read a long time ago, after the breakup that John said that him and Paul could have had any two other musicians in the group and had the same results.
