Huh?!?! The body of an LP and that of a Duo Jet have absolutely nothing in common, other than that they're both single cutaways.

Finally!

I'm really happy for you Jim. This one was a long time comin'. I hope it's everything you expected it to be. Post some pics when you get a chance and enjoy the heck out of it when it arrives (which I know you will). Congrats!

Re: New RIC bass copy

Several years back, a young student of mine showed up at a lesson with a Rick bass copy. He was really happy that he finally had a bass that looked like the ones his heroes played. It played and sounded OK, but nothing like the real deal. I asked him if he'd ever played a real Rickenbacker and he an...

Re: What you've all been waiting for...

Great pics, Jake. Glad to see you're enjoying the guitar. I see the pics were shot on film...gives 'em a sort of '60s vibe that fits the instrument. Well done Jake, nice pics. You sort of look like a young Mike Snow A "young" Mike Snow? Are you implying that Mike is old? I'm tellin'... &qu...

Re: Knock-Offs, Rip-Offs, and Just Plain UGLY!

THIS THING'S UGLY, STUPID, WAAAAAYYYY OVERPRICED, AND JUST PLAIN END OF YEAR OFFENSIVE! Not only that, but one thing that sets off the warning sirens in my head is the fact that the seller claims it's NOS and has never been sold, yet it's located in Taiwan. I'm not so sure that Gibson had any autho...

Re: Repairing A Chip

Excellent job, Joey. That turned out great. You did a nice job of color matching. And I think you're right...unless you're less than two feet away from the bass, you'd never know there was a nick in the finish. Congrats.

Re: Whats are these ?

I'll bet dollars to donuts that they're these: NY III Alnicos These are incredible sounding pickups for the money BTW. I had a pair of these in a Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet I used to have. They were a huge improvement over the stock pickups. Don't know if I'd install them in a Rick, though. But he...
