Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Shwing, yes!
Once I get the new pickguard and thumb rest, shwing shwing!! Tony at Pickguardian is on the case. Sounds like a real nice guy.

I've got a couple of more questions I'll be posting up pertaining to Rick volume and tone pots shortly..

After I get the new pickguard on, I'll send a pick of ...

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Wow Wints,
Dead on on the inconsistencies. Color between ours looks real close. Well, now I know what mine will look like when I get the new pick guard and thumb rest. Kinda sad that the previous owner took off the thumbrest, then MOVED it, then took it off, and then it disappeared. Kinda hacky on ...

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Well, that was too big a file.
here's a closeup of it. When I get a smaller file with the black one, I'll post that one. I'll be looking at Pickguardian for a new pick guard, etc.

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Hey Wints,
If this is true, we're sittin on some pretty cool lumber here, and not totally surprising based on the history of the company. I know mine is authentic because of the very respectable place I got it from. So I'm feelin kinda good about it. Here's another shot with his brother Blackie.

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Sorry, forgot at ask.
If anyone out there can has access how many '69 FG's were produced, that would be cool. I'd love to know. Maybe this was one of the last production Horseshoes sans the reissues.

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Wints-
Rick website pegs the bass as April '69- IDxxx
Yes, it is a horseshoe- That was the mission. Many years ago I had a natural one that was much earlier that when you're young and stupid (we all have that moment) you do foolish things. I let that one go. So I tried to find it again and never ...

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

To Wints-
The Rickenbacker book I have by Richard R Smith (GREAT BOOK!) only goes up to '68 and it shows production of 83 FireGlo, 74 Natural, 31 Black and 11 OT (?), or 199 total bases. So even if they doubled production for '69 it would still only be a mere handful.
Mine I believe is a June baby.

Re: First post- Looking for odd part

Wow all,
Thanks for your hospitality and great feedback on Picguardian.
Yea, the spacings are different then their website calls out for.
Only questions I'm asking myself is if I put one on, it will be in the way, so maybe I'll get and just store.
Then I fugure out how to attach the pic when I take ...

First post- Looking for odd part

Hello all, This is my first posting, so hope it's going to the right place.
I am trying to find a clear thumb rest and screws for a '69 Rick 4001.
I know these are hard to come across, but perhaps someone in the forum can steer me.
Thanks!
JohnRick
