I was on line when it sold. I was asking the seller if it was really a "Spanish" model .
I hated to miss that one.
There's more out there, but not at that selling price.

At the two recent Vintage show I attended. Both pre-war and post-war Ric bakelites were selling at high prices. Some pre-war B6 were tagged and sold for over $1500 and I saw several B6D priced and selling for over $1000. Mind you, all instruments were in excellent condition with no issues. Silver ...

$300 is on the high side of retail for this instrument. There is noting outstanding about the sound, and it left the factory with that finish.

Try a product call DEOXIT. Get the bottle that has the long stem. Soake the top of the shaft and slowly move it until it frees up. Then do the underside of the pot as well.

The "Electro" brand strings are flat wound and very much like the old Gibson flat wounds that were made by Perfection String Co. of Brunswick, Indiana (1946 -51). Like I said in an earlier post, the guitar had original strings still on it. They had the same green silk wrappings as the opened strings ...

The Ric scratches an itch that I have for that ultimate feel in a lap steel. The tone is bright coming out of a Fender 15 watt tube amp. I can get the Ric to roar like David Gilmour, or just sway in the palms. Right now, I have it set up with Asher electric strings .058 to .016 and tuned to an Open ...
