Re: Rick questions /opinions (480)
Thank you all for your input. I was thinking about the Bigsby because I never owned a guitar with any kind of tremolo, and every Bigsby I've tried felt so good. However upon further review: A) Even though I have no plans to ever sell it, I had no idea the 480's went for that much now and almost feel...

Rick questions /opinions (480)
Hello all. It's been a looong time. A few months ago I was able to buy back my 1st quality electric guitar (jetglo 480) from the friend I sold it to 12+ years ago. It needs a fret job and a good cleaning, but overall it's the same with a little bit more mojo. Is it a bad idea to install a Bigsby whe...

I thought he was always a P bass guy ? Occasional J bass? At any rate that Ric is really cutting through in a good way . Not that I disliked his tone w/ other basses, but that double Ric assault really compliments their early style. [youtube]<object width="425" height="344"><para...

Re: Rickenbacker 4004 LK
While I don't consider myself a Lemmy enthusiast, I remember reading or hearing about him favoring or using solely the treble pup. Prior to looking up info on the 4004 lk and the Guild (i used to and still kinda want one of those; so cheesy but awesome) I was led to the Lemmy Wikipedia entry and saw...

Rickenbacker 4004 LK
Sorry if this has been covered before....
Still pretty green here and couldn't really find much on the subject.
I was wondering if anyone knew where the idea behind the ornamentation/carvings came from
on the Lemmy sig. bass? Did he request it ? Was it a nod to the
Guild s-100 sc acorn ?

Re: Got the gig
Congrats. Should be fun. Make sure to throw hemispheres (song or entire album), and vital signs (my fave rush tune along with camera eye and a few others ; always reminded me of the music from the original terminator) into the set. I always got stuck behind the kit for rush covers. I think I have fo...

Re: thinking of buying a new amp, input welcome!
Congrats on the Orange. I've been very happy w/ mine and although mine is the ad200b, haven't really had a problem w/ low end. Here's a tip for all of you , Orange owners or not : Don't let your drummer get violent, throw his/her floor tom around , get tangled up in your cable (in this case from my ...

Re: My 4 Days at NAMM- Rickenbacker Content!
sort of related.... I took my 4003 to get set up (for the 3rd time in the short time I've owned it) on sat. When I asked how long it would take, I was told that it might be 1-2 weeks since Mr. Carruthers was at the NAMM show and behind on the shop work. So.... He's hanging out w/ you and the booth l...

Re: thinking of buying a new amp, input welcome!
Hey Mike, I'm pretty green when it comes to Ricks so I may not be the opinion you want. That being said I recently bought a 4003, and play it through my Orange AD200B MK 3 head. Sounds great. I own a few guitars and haven't tried any of them through the Orange (have a Marshall for that), so I can't ...

Montezuma's revenge / more noob questions/pic
Very happy with the newest member of the family. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l292/bb5000/Bass/mont_2.jpg I haven't had the opportunity to play her through my Orange yet (tiny practice amp only thus far), but I'm already impressed by the build quality and feel. In general I'm not too into playi...

Re: New to me...a 425V63
Sorry if this is a bit off topic (at least to the guitar) , but you guys in all of your infinite wisdom helped rid a 40 year old (not ric) bass of someone's painted on (in old english font w/ liquid paper or model paint) signature. Zymol rules the school. I bought the scratch x too .... but it didn'...

Rick 480
Hello everyone, Pretty new to the forum. 1st post on the +2 string end. I previously owned what I believe to be a rick 480 (according to the ric website).... bolt on neck, cresting wave shap, solid body, 24 frets ? I think the fretboard was flat ? Is that it ? It was my first "real" (prior...

Re: Favorite Youtube Rickenbacker vids
Here we go...perhaps a bit unorthodox the RIC culture....but one of my favorites nonetheless.... I see your Fugazi and raise you this gem ......Not my favorite song by them but an amazing performance/demonstration of Fugazi's unscripted push and pull. Ian came to a skate shop in my town a few weeks...
