Re: New member/owner
My best advice, for a newbie with a 12 string is to make sure that you use the correct gauge of strings on it. RICs own branded 12 string set is the one I always recommend as a starting point. Send a PM to Peter (ADMIN) and he will assign the entries to your account.
Please try to preserve the original images from when it was entered. Often the register is the only place that old photos will have survived.

Are you sure that you entered it as Vi (Vee Eye) as opposed to V1??
Just a thought.

Re: Almost 45,000 instruments in the register!
I wonder what percentage of total production 45,000 represents? Regardless its an impressive number! Si... There is no way to actually know that information, but we can speculate. Using just the limited signature editions that we have total numbers for, and the years with the double letters from 19...

Re: STOLEN Model 1993 reissue!!
it would be good to add the images from the reverb listing, as well.
But it is not a collected item, so Peter will need to update the listing, to remove the stolen checkbox.

Re: Question about finishes
From personal experience, the Rickenbacker that I own with the clear coat checking, is my JG 610 from January 1991. It's finish has many cracks in the clear coat, although if you look at the guitar from more than eight feet away, I doubt you would notice it. It still covers the wood. This image from...

Re: Question about finishes
No you can't do it yourself!
Older Rickenbackers use Conversion Varnish. Which requires expertise and equipment beyond but a handful of specialists. (Do a search on this site for "Conversion Varnish" and there will be lots of results)...
Newer RICs use a UV cured finish.

Re: JOHN LENNON'S 325 RESTORATION--WHAT CAN WE LEARN?
I understand that all of the Beatles guitars were recently photographed for the upcoming Martin Kelly Rickenbacker book.
Be curious to see what they look like in 2021.

Re: Experience with stripped guitars
Vince: I think that we tend to use the terms "Butchered" or "parted out" to describe these kinds of projects. In my mind "stripped" means that someone stripped the finish off. Often down to the bare wood, like Macca's 4001S I have succesfully done two of these projects ...

Send a message to Peter (ADMIN) and he will assign the registry entries to your RRF account.
There are currently more than 43,000 register entries, so it isn't unusual to find your already RICs in the database.
