Re: 1960 Rick 360

Wow. First of all, I can’t believe I still have a log in here. I wanted to update you guys so I’m dredging up this 14 year old thread. Obviously a ton has changed but I’ve finally taken the plunge and started the repair process on my dad’s capri. It should take about 4 weeks or so. I decided to get ...

Re: 1960 Rick 360

I really don't plan on selling this guitar, so collectibility is a definite factor, but maintaining it and playing it for my kids is also a factor. I am obviously not refinishing it or any of that. Honestly, a good tech might be able to straighten out the buzz without replacing the frets or any of t...

Re: 1960 Rick 360

Welcome, Robert. I take it you and Nick are friends? I know someone who can get your Capri up and running again, Nick. Look no further than our own Paul W. (aka Jingle_Jangle). He's actually lisenced to build Ric acoustic guitars and has restored tons of Rics that needed repairs, refins or anything...

Re: 1960 Rick 360

Re: 1960 Rick 360

actually I just met robert on Thegearpage forums. I had posted a similar post there, and he suggested this forum. I am glad he did because it seems like this is the place to be for rics. Anyways, I'm scanning some old pics of my dad gigging with the guitar, but you can't really see the guitar very w...

Re: 1960 Rick 360

I definitely don't want to change anything. Mostly what I would want to have done would be to have the frets redressed (but only if that would not hurt the value of the guitar) along with other basic set up procedures. I just worry about it surviving for years to come. Honestly, I would drive this g...

1960 Rick 360

Hey guys, I'm new here and have been trying to figure out a way not to step on any toes too soon by starting a topic, but couldn't really find any way to introduce myself. Just posting some pics of my dad's Rickenbacker. He bought it back in '61 new and gigged with it for probably 15 years. It opene...
