Re: 90th anniversary XC basses and guitars still in production with 2022 serial numbers!
I think the Fireglo's are readily available in the UK: SoundAffects have a few brand new in stock.
They've had them since late last year.
The 4005C 100th Anniversary edition is just round the corner, too.....!

Re: 90th anniversary XC basses and guitars still in production with 2022 serial numbers!
If its any help, I received mine last week in the UK, via Rosetti / Sound Affects, and it is a Jetglo, with 90th anniversary stickers and a shiny fretboard. It looks to me that the "exported" XC's have a different serial numbering convention from the native USA ones? USA seem to use 2 digi...

You guys in the USA are lucky: seeing Rics in the UK is another world.... rare and exotic creatures that rarely visit....!

Re: 4005XC
:D Actually I got a response from Rosetti yesterday!! They said they didn't know when they'll arrive in the UK: they only get told they're on the way when they actually are..! :D But they DID tell me that no Jetglo's have been exported to the UK as yet, only the Fireglo's. Given that RIC have made t...

Re: Is it happening? A new 4005?!
That is a fine looking prototype though. I've always liked the design of 4005. The bridge pickup is too close to the bridge and the neck pickup too close to the neck for my taste. Could put a P-bass PU in the middle! If you were considering this route, you could probably do a lot worse than l...

Re: May be of interest to someone...?
not to mention that aesthetically speaking, that Yamaha pickup is an aberration... if they really had to add a pick-up, they could have added a standard hi-gain/toaster between the existing pickups, similar to the 370 guitar...and no need to mess up with the electronics True! :D It's not been done ...

Re: May be of interest to someone...?
The fact it IS routed saves someone £4-6k, basically, though? It means they can fit any pickups they want to try out without devaluing an otherwise "good" 4005..... The damage is done. Re: restoration...well, it will be difficult to repair the PU hole, as the finish is translucent, so you'...

Re: May be of interest to someone...?
At that asking price, it's prob gonna set someone in the UK back £4k, after import duty / VAT, etc.....? If they'd sell for €3000, then it'd be more like £3200, all in....? BUT...I have seen a load of people saying that the SOUND of an '05 could do with this, that and the other...so the buyer could,...
