Charles, like you I have a threshold of guitars. When I come into a new and BETTER Ric (or Danelectro) I have to replace the old one. Can never afford anything more. I always have 1 Ric and 1 Dan in the house - Dan is currently light blue burst. I hope to move from my current 620 FG to a 620 BB some ...

Wait a sec... through more searching in this forum, I stumbled up an old thread in "reflections of a curmudgeon" regarding Blue Boy colour options.

Blue Boy is the exact colour I'm talking about... and it is great! (in my opinion).

This is off-topic, but can anyone explain quickly why it is ...

Doesn't anyone own 620s in here?

I'm a newbie and here's my story.

I had a 650D for a couple years and then sold it, due to the wide neck. I fooled myself into liking the wideness, because I loved the tone so much. But, alas I came to accept that I needed the proper neck for my small little ...

Kirk, when you say "they always need the nut cut lower", do you mean in height? or in distance to the fret?

1. The problem is apparent on all strings quite equally... not to worry at the moment... going to get a new setup to accomodate my preferred strings.

2. I'm curious about the wound G idea... that sounds kind of cool.

3. My dog-like hearing better NOT disappear on me... nothing is more pleasing ...

One more thing...

Reading through the BFTS website, and in their industry testimonies section, there is mention of the very same problem I'm having. The problem of the fretted notes not playing properly against the open notes. It seems like a notorious problem, even on the finest guitars, and ...

Woah... so many replies. What a great resource for Ric owners! Thanks guys.

To answer some questions:

-The action and intonation were set up properly after I bought it, but it had different strings at the time. This might be my answer. As the action, saddle adjustments, nut height and the ...

Anyone have this problem with their Rick?

Hi

I have a 620... it's set up well and sounds great. Only problem is I haven't been able to tune it ever since I bought it!

I tune the OPEN strings to A440 just fine, but the STOP(fretted) notes are all sharp by a cent or two. So I solve this by tuning OPEN at A439, so that my STOP notes can ...
