Thanks Mark! That's a really cool pic. That's a cool room he has there.

Yeah, I've contacted the seller on that one. I'll probably make a run at it.

Cool... thanks! I've seen some of the flame ones go around that much. I know where one is that the seller is asking $3200... which is insane, even it does have nice flame.

Re: Playing bass through a guitar amp
I love Weber speakers. I use an Ampeg B25B (55 loud watts) through two 12" Weber Neos. The Webers have outstanding full range tone but can only go so loud in a live setting . For recording they are perfect.
I like my Jensen Tornado a lot and have been curious about Weber's Neos. I might check ...

How much do these usually sell for? I've seen several that are "unplayed, mint" and they seem to be around $2300.

Playing bass through a guitar amp
Bass is not my primary instrument. I mainly play guitar, but obviously need a bass for recording, so I have my trusty 4003. I do not have a bass amp. I've been mainly playing my 4003 through a Samamp VAC 23. Btw, guitar players look those up because they are incredible amps. Anyway, the Samamp is ...

Re: M-88
Good suggestion! I didn't know Magnatone made one in that configuration. I actually have a '58 Mag 213 and it is one of my favorites. I'll check out the M10. However, I don't have a Rick amp...

Re: M-88
The cab is what mainly attracted me to them. Besides the fact that they are gorgeous, I like the idea of a small speaker in a bigger cab. I love 8" speakers and I'd really like to hear one in a larger cab than the normal Champ cab. These M88s look like they fit the bill. The circuit also looks to be ...

Re: M-88
Thread revival.
Does anyone have any info on the M88? A schematic would be nice. I'm guessing they are the same schematic as the M8, except for the obvious tone pot. Are these really rare? I'm just finding out about them and they seem pretty cool. I'm a sucker for tiny 8" combos.

Re: New guy here... 4001 or 4003?
Thanks for the great info, everyone! I didn't know the toasters were alnico... man, I would love to here those. That's a pretty big selling point for me. I forgot to mention that I'm a guitar player and haven't had a bass in years. When I was a teenager my brother and I found a used, but mint, 90's ...

Re: New guy here... 4001 or 4003?
HA! I agree, JetGlo is hot... I just meant nothing like AutumanGlo which IIRC is pretty rare.
This is good to hear about the 4001s... personally I like older gear. I'm not a vintage snob or anything, but older guitars seem to play better to me. They feel broken in. :D
I'm not crazy about this cap ...

New guy here... 4001 or 4003?
Hey all, I'm new here and looking for some advise.
I'm considering getting a Ric bass and am trying to decide between an old 4001 or newer 4003. I think I understand some of the differences, but correct me if I'm wrong...
