Re: If John Lennon posted on an guitar forum

According to the Beatles Gear book Jim Burns only worked on the 325's wiring once. A local coachworks (bodyshop) did the black refin & pics of it shortly afterwards show a smooth, glossy finish. Of course it didn't take long for the edges to start getting scuffed, and it would seem that John occ...

Re: In praise of the Ric 610

The only real difference is that the Hallmark has a larger baseplate, other than that they're pretty much the same. Both have real light touch & add to the playability of already great guitars!

Re: In praise of the Ric 610

Thanks guys! The 615 actually has a Hallmark vibrato (a spinoff from Mosrite, hence the similarity), which is a nice little unit, fits very nicely on a RIC. The 620 has an original Mosrite, one of the stand alone vibratos from the Celebrity model I believe. The best vibrato of that type that I've ev...

Re: In praise of the Ric 610

I've got an '02 620 & a '67 615 that have been my two main guitars for gigging & studio work over the years. I always get complimented on their look & sound!

Re: Ruby anyone?

Nice, now I'll be able to get that RR 330 back that I traded in '91! It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it might be a little darker than the original, either way it looks great!

Re: 325 On Ted Mack's Amateur Hour

An early 60's band playing a 325 & a Gretsch Jet (albeit a Firebird), what a coincidence! That Kaufman seems to be staying in tune too. Another coincidence, October 9th is John Lennon's birthday...

Re: In praise of the Ric 610

I agree that the 600 series are very underated, too bad no one famous beside Ron played one! Although Tom Petty revived interest in them in the late 70's. I have a '67 615 & an '02 620 that are my main go-to guitars.

Lost RICs

What guitar or bass do you most regret selling or trading? I'm sure we've all got at least a few. Mine was an '86 330 which I traded in '91 for a 325v59, which I ended up trading for something else years later. It was ruby red with white plastic & a great tone, wish I still had it...

I had heard of that song but didn't know there were any recordings of it by the Beatles until recently. Glad you liked it!

Another Beatles Instrumental

This is Catswalk, a song written by Paul very early in the Beatle days. It's from a rehersal at the Cavern from late '62. There's another version that sounds like it might be from the Decca audition with Pete Best on drums.

Wow that's nice, that classic style with a little extra room to play! I've got a '96 350 with an Accent and it's one of my favorite RICs...

Re: New guy

Thanks CJ, yeah I get a severe case of RIC envy every time I log in! Glad you like the pic, don't think I ever had them all in the same place at the same time, just had to get the camera out!

I'm glad to hear that it's easy to play, you'll have to post a video so the rest of us can hear that great tone!
