Paid the big coin and picked up the JB3 on the weekend.
Gotta say I love the Jangle boost end of this unit with the Rick 330 6 string on my Vox AC30ccx ( with blues). I had been using an OCD as a "treble booster" but in comparison the OCD now sounds abrasive. Good bye OCD, hello JB3.

Re: REM Broke Up!!!
I remember those early albums, and the Gardening at Night EP!!, with great fondness and saw the band when they were still playing the college circuit in Canada. Great shows!
I loved the band before I loved my Rickies.

Fogerty's Son? - Rocking the Ric
Just came from the New Orleans Jazz and Blues Festival. Caught John Fogerty on the final day and have to say he was awesome. Still going strong vocally and laying down some killer lead work as well. His main rhythm guitar player was rocking a beautiful Ric.

Dakota 650 versus 620
I just ran across a guy who is looking to sell his fireglow 620 .
I currently mainly play a 330 and have a dakota 650 in my possesion which I rarely play but 'share' with a bandmate who can't keep his hands off it.
Will this guitar (620) be too 'redundant' to the 330 and the Dakota. I was thinking ...

Re: AC30 ccx - need to overdrive this baby
Thanks for the input from everyone>
Instead of power scaling I went out and bought an AC15 and kept the AC30.
I have a master volume on the ac3o but the sound of pre amp gain is not the same of the power section working.
I had a reputable local tech give me some very similar information ...

Re: AC30 ccx - need to overdrive this baby
Was looking into power scaling but realized I really didn't want to haul the 70 lbs. to gigs any more....so I bought a AC15 cc1.........earlier break-up .......reasonable volume.......very similar tone......I should have done this years ago.
Of course I will not sell my AC30 :D as it is my first ...

Re: AC30 ccx - need to overdrive this baby
Thanks for the helpful advice. I will try that first plus I have checked into the power scaling. I may do this if the lower wattage setting doesn't get me to the promised land.
But first it's "Viva Las Vegas" for a few days of fun.

Re: AC30 ccx - need to overdrive this baby
I like to run mine on the low power setting... I might buy this gadget for my cc2x though. . . :)
Ciao Paolo:
I haven't fully experimented with this setting. Does this give you those beautiful overdrive tones at a quieter level. I think this is what I really want to achieve. I don't need to ...

AC30 ccx - need to overdrive this baby
Hey everyone.
I am playing a variety of guitars including a 330 -6 and a dakota through my AC30 ccx - with the alnico blues. I love the overdrive tones I get when I crank this baby up however this can be brutally LOUD. I have a decent overdrive pedal, a diamond mk3, plus a distortion pedal, but ...
