new 4003 bridge surround screw spacing the same as old?

I like my bridge pickup covers. are the new surrounds the same screw spacing/positions as the old? i have a spare bridge pickup/surround i could swap in (if i got a new bass).

i would not want to drill a new bass. darn thumb rest/no cover…

Check out some of the online retail sites.

Willcuttguitars for example.

Very nice! Good to keep it in the family.

Was it refinished?

Cream binding, vintage knobs, Oiled fretboards

Anyone know when these features began to ship in the modern production rics?

I am not a fan of the cream binding.

My 2016 is a 3 piecer/5 with headstock wings.

I can tell you next week, but typical current 4003’s are two piece

Re: NGD 4003 Montezuma Amberglo

I think he (Dane) made one for someone where the same jack hole could be stereo or mono. Tlak to the man. He knows what he is doing and has good ideas!
The extra wiring involved with Rick-O-Sound isn't taking away any "guts or punch". However, for those that want that feature on a bass with mono ...

Re: NGD 4003 Montezuma Amberglo

I just bought one of these. Pretty excited as it checks off all my favourite features.

Mono jack. Just learned this now. Not a deal breaker as lots of other bases run fine mono… but i do run a biamp setup, so it is too bad. Mind you modern effects pedals including my darkglass adam split signals ...

Re: Replacement truss rods for 4001

The rickysounds truss rods were great. Oem rods are primitive in comparison. The aluminum block is also camfered to stop the rods from riding up on it. The only issue was that i had to file down the washers cause they were too large to let me put my truss rod cover on.

Re: 4005xc production numbers?

I also like that the 4005xc is short scale. Long scale would never balance… and i want variety from my 4001/3.

And i like the body. Unique. The original 4005 is just 110% not my thing… where is the 330 is unique and weird and cool. I cant wait to shred it!

Pre and post v2 bridge neck dive?

How were the pre and post v2 bridges balancing? I know the pre v2 were prone to neck dive.

Vintage bridge capacitor pickup bypass

Forgive me as my 4001 has the bridge capacitor bypassed. And i dont yet have a modern ric with the toggle.

When the capacitor is engaged (vintage setting), what frequencies are bypassed in the bridge pickup? (Ex: 500hz and below)

The neck and bridge pickup are in parallel… and they display phase ...

When did 4003 neck cutouts get deeper?

When did the 4003 swap to the deeper neck cutouts? I dont mind it except that in the treble side the pickguard can cover some of the checkerboard binding in some of the special edition models.
