My cat's expensive new bed.

It came out of the box with one string out of tune. The setup on it was perfect out of the box. I'm very happy with this purchase!

eBay is 9% commission plus any listing/insertion fees. Paypal is 3%. The eBay commision is included for shipping costs too. It's a little bit cheaper for fixed cost listings, but it does add up. However, it does put your item out to a larger group of people and, depending on the item, you may be ab...

Re: Is the bass in Something Drop D?

Dig through your back issues of Bass Player magazine; a year or two ago they printed a complete transcription of the song. I don't have that!! :) Besides, I bought their transcription of Oh Darling when I was college (yes, I think that was an issue in 99...man I'm getting old) and it missed the who...

Is the bass in Something Drop D?

I have been wondering this for a couple of months. I have the isolated RockBand tracks and listened to them a bit and the recordings and it sounds to me like McCartney is hitting the low D at the end of the walkdown right before the guitar solo. If it is drop D, it strikes me as odd since this would...

Re: Lemmy 6-string? What madness is this?

My only point is that I don't believe that some astronomical cost to develop a Capri reissue is the barrier, and I've seen some gigantic numbers bandied about in previous discussions on this topic (although not by anyone at RIC). Like I said, you don't know what you are talking about. Without getti...

Re: How expensive is electronics work?

Even I have figured out, mostly, how to solder! You can, too!! It will be cheaper in the long run to get some pieces to practice on and figure out how to do it than it will be to pay someone. The unfortunate thing about a lot of guitar work is that techs will charge quite a bit for something that is...

Re: Does Rickenbacker supply wrenches to adjust your neck?

I bought my driver from Pick of the Ricks a few years ago so I assumed it was the same tool. It fits fine in my 650 and my 2010 4003, so maybe the 4004 is just an oddity.

Re: Does Rickenbacker supply wrenches to adjust your neck?

I will dig out a little bit of the paint in the TRC cavity to get my Xcelite driver to fit. That's what I've done for my 08 4004 and my 79 4001. After I did it on my 79, I realized how little wood there is in that area so I made sure not to go very deep. I just scraped the paint off so that the nut ...

Re: MAD...VERY VERY MAD...YES. FURIOUS...PLS READ

I bought some modern strap locks from this guy a while back for my 4001 at a cheaper price than buying from a dealer. I am quite happy with the purchase. I haven't had any bad experiences with the seller so I don't have any complaints. This person buys guitars and then does what he wants with them. ...

Re: New pickup is in and it works!!!!

There was an internal short to ground for the black wire. I got a continuity to ground when I put my multimeter on solder point one and the base plate or ground wire. Since everything I read said you couldn't open these up, I figured I wouldn't be able to get the humucking feature with the one I had...

Re: New pickup is in and it works!!!!

The metal is certainly touching a little in the cavity. Are the 4001 routes the same size as the modern routes? I can look again, but I don't see any other way to mount the pickup on the mounting plate. Maybe I can slide it back just a touch with the screws I installed.
