Re: What are the guitar nuts made of?
I got the 650 back yesterday and it seemed okay. I broke a string on it first thing when I got home so I didn't get to really try to play it until today. It sounds to me like it is still buzzing like it did before. I'm going to have to take it back when I get some time and make sure that the buzzing...

Bass pictures on RIC's facebook page
For everyone with a facebook account (and maybe those who don't, I don't know what their settings are), check out the Rickenbacker facebook page. They just posted some pictures of Ciis getting glued and a batch of 4003s that will get the Ruby treatment. It's good stuff to follow.

Re: New pickup is in and it works!!!!
New pickup is in and it really works this time! There really isn't a substantial difference in sound between the single coil and humucking modes of the pickup. There is a volume change and a the sound gets a little bassier, I think, but it isn't quite as drastic as I was thinking it would be. It was...

Re: made in usa and push pull pot stickers
I do wish Rickenbacker would use stickers with a material that would pull off easier. It's kind of like buying a used book with a sticker you can't get off.

Call me crazy...
but I am really liking this Precision bass, especially the one with the maple neck: http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0178300790 I've been wanting a P-bass for a while, but I already have too much stuff. I'd have to sell (at least) one of my basses to get it. Has anyone seen or played...

Re: New pickup is in and it works!!!!
I took it back apart today and the black wire is the one going to ground. I didn't see any nicks or anything in the wire so I took the pickup back out and wound up disconnecting the black wire from the pickup. The #1 spot on the plate (the black wire connection) is grounded to the body of the pickup...

Re: What are the guitar nuts made of?
That's right, Ryan, I never changed it. I was pretty certain you didn't. I'm just guessing this one was either cut a little off at the factory and I didn't pay much attention when I got it, or maybe some of the strings I put on it after the fact cut into it a little more than they should have. Once...

Re: What are the guitar nuts made of?
Thanks for the info! I bought the guitar originally, sold it to jdog, then bought it back from jdog a year or so later. He didn't say anything about replacing the nut and it looked like the one on it when I sent it to him so I'm pretty confident it is original. I figured it was just a preference thi...

Re: Beatles Live at the BBC
Love the BBC set. It's not perfect but there's no way everyone could be satisfied. I also have the 9 disc set that is the er, 'unofficial' release. Phenomenal, though more versions of 'A Taste of Honey' than most would ever want to hear! Nine disks? Why isn't more of this stuff being released? It d...

Re: Beatles Live at the BBC
Baby It's You is one of my favourite Beatles' recordings. Then again I have 213 favorites. :) I thought this song was called "Sha la la la la," but, in fact, baby it's you. I have the BBC album playing in my truck on my way to work. Next up is Anthology 1 :D I never thought the recording ...

Re: Here Comes the Sons - BBC report speculation
This concept would be too contrived, I think, to be successful. If they had all grown up together or really had any connection other than the fact that their parents were in a band together, it might work. I would rather them do their own music and maybe play the occassional benefit concert together...
