Where does quilted wood come from? I know a lot of guitars advertise birds eye maple, quilted, or flame. Do these grow on different trees and are they really that much harder to get? I would like a little more obvious difference between the Ciis and Ls, I think (such as in the picture two posts abov...

So far, three 4004 BBRs have been made. All have been Ciis. One went to Bass Northwest, one to Wildwood (both made last year) and one this year went to the Ricpage. Yes, I have been keeping track http://archives.rickresource.com/clipart/happy.gif Mine was ordered by the Ricpage in March of last year...

I've read some about the varying construction of the 4004Ciis. My understanding is the one pictured above with the nice maple top has a layer of walnut sandwiched between two pieces of maple. Are they still made like this or do the newer ones have the walnut wings like the original Cis? I have a BBR...

Pricing question
I was wasting time at Musiciansfriend today and saw a 330 FG blem and figured I'd check on the price. It's selling for $980. Then I figured I'd check to see the price of a regular model because I remember the price going up a few months ago. Well, the regular 330s are going for 1k, or 66% of list. B...

I bought one of those Fender Vintage Voltage cloth covered cables three years ago when Musiciansfriend was having one of their big clearance sales. It is 18 feet I think and I got it for under 20 dollars. They are 25 regularly. It has outlasted the planet waves cable I paid 30+ dollars for 6 years a...

Hello, If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to see the picture of McCartney's bass from '73 too. I could have sworn I heard or read somewhere that he sent the Rickenbacker back in '68 to have it refinished (because of the spray paints) and the treble pickup replaced. That's why he played the Hoffn...
