I reached out to Thomastik and they said that they are in the process of packaging a set specifically for Rics, but have been held up with printing supply

Re: Source for Thomastiks for 12 string
I went ahead and ordered a pieced together set from JustStrings.com...kinda expensive, but all Thomastiks I've used last a long long time

Invasive neck reset
I may have ended up with a more compromised 360/12 than I originally thought... It's a '66 with a poorly (but stably) repaired headstock break...I think cleaning it up and redoing some stuff will make it look fine and be just as stable. The issue now, which I didn't realize when I first got it is th...

Source for Thomastiks for 12 string
Does anyone know a current source for sets of TI flats for 12 strings, other than ordering individual strings from juststrings.com?

Re: HiGain Magnet swap between bridge and neck
The photo is strangely deceptive...the bridge pickup polepieces are considerably more spaced out than the neck pickup is

Re: Best aftermarket Toasters?
The Creamery's pickups get great reviews...I know some folks that have his Wide Range humbuckers. https://www.creamery-pickups.co.uk/custom-handwound-pickups-from-the-creamery/custom-handwound-replacement-ric-rickenbacker-and-toaster-style-pickups.html#.YVdWaGZKgWo Hopefully I'm getting a set of the...

Is there something weird with these HiGains?
I'm wondering if these HiGains are original to my 1982 360... I haven't seen photos of older HiGains without the center hole in the magnet. It also looks like the face/bobbin top may be Bakelite? Are the button tops typically staggered, height-wise? IMG_5891.jpg IMG_5890.jpg IMG_5889.jpg IMG_5888.jpg

Re: HiGain Magnet swap between bridge and neck
Anyone know if that big a winding discrepancy a common thing for that thine period? I was wondering that too; that's a huge difference between the two pickups. Are you sure the neck pickup is original and/or hasn't been re-wound since new? I'm not 100% sure, but they look period correct, and they l...

HiGain Magnet swap between bridge and neck
My early 80's 360 has what appear to be the original pickups. The bridge reads a little under 7k and sounds clean and clear, while the neck reads around 14.3k and is incredibly muddy. I put in a 500k neck volume pot and .022uF neck tone cap to try to get a little more clarity, dropped it as low as i...

Re: What about Peter Buck?
I recently found a seller on eBay that machines brass Starz style bridges (https://www.ebay.com/usr/mrmachinst1), like the one on Peter's 360. I used a Winfield Vintage Tune-O-Matic base and had to shorten the studs, then I used brass washers and brass acorn nuts to lock it down. I think that Peter'...
