Re: Trivial vintage hardcase question
Thanks that is exactly the answer I was looking for. Incidentally, the case that came with my 72 4001 will fit a geddy lee jazz bass (which I don't know if it is shorter than the real 60s/70s). Which now makes me wonder if what I have in fact is actually a no logo Fender case.

Trivial vintage hardcase question
Were vintage 60s-70s Fender and Rick hardcases made by the same company? Are the shape/dimensions the same? ie: would a 70s 4001 case with orange lining be the same as the one of the late 64-66 no logo Fender cases?

So how low would this have to go to make it a viable project? I've seen it in person. Its more of a crack in the neck than a mere separation.

Re: Azureglo or Midnight Blue. Please help.
nice. somewhat uncommon 4003 in AZ given the short overlap of beginning of 4003 and end of AZ

Early 70s white nut
So recently I've been on the hunt for an early 70s white delrin nut. I know the pics are a terrible, but is this nut consistent with such a nut?

Re: problematic truss rods 2012 special edition 4003
Kind of barbaric, but you could try using a flathead screw driver and gently prying them up a little. It'd be best to clamp down the fretboard around the first 1st fret or so to make sure the fretboard doesn't pop up.

Re: Need help with 73 4001 integrity
Looks like a pretty legit transition era 4001. Ie: too late for full width inlays but has toaster and checkerboard binding.

Re: The Book is done!
Wow. July seems so far away. Is there a low print run? ie recommended to pre-order? Also guessing no hardcover?

Rickenbacker case?
Is this a Rickenbacker case? The bass obviously not, but is the case? Did the old cases have any distinguishing details not found on other cases?

Re: Help please?
Also depends how loud u can get at home! I had an old ampeg v4 that sounded fantastic with my 4001. Even at 100W it was probably too loud for the house.

My brother has a vintage jag in car that has faded to that color. Very cool. Also CB + BT = yum.
