Hello.
Will keep everyone posted. Also given via PM the name of "WITH" in Tokyo. They have some refinished & customized Ricks on their home page.
Thanks again for the help.

Re: Anyone know a good refinisher in Japan?
OK...thanks (I think) for the diagnosis.
If I were to get this guitar to you, would you be willing to do the neck refinish? If so, can you give me a cost estimate?
Feel free to send that info to my email if that info is not for public consumption.
Appreciate the help.

Re: Anyone know a good refinisher in Japan?
OK, that sounds like a good start.
I would prefer to have a qualified pro (or even semi-pro!) do the work...but am open to any suggestions that may be doable.
Thanks for the reply. Here we go with a few close-up shots.

Anyone know a good refinisher in Japan?
Hello--
I have seen referenced on this great site quality pro Ric refinishes done in Japan. I am searching for a spot refinish on the back of the neck, behind about the 8th fret.
I am in Japan and have a Desert Gold 360 that suffered some kind of gouge to the neck before I got it; it was filled in ...

Re: Got my first Rickenbacker (not white 370) & loving it!
Thanks everyone!
It's called Desert Gold. COY for 2001.
The serial number on the jack plate is an 01 so that checks out, and the identical full serial number is written in pen in the cavity. So methinks all is OK.
Actually was looking at first for Blue Boy or the creamy white, but rare, hard to ...

Got my first Rickenbacker (not white 370) & loving it!
Hello all--
Been spending quality time with my new 360 which I got a few days ago. Ended up not going with the white 370 I posted on this forum (and got all kinds of useful info regarding) due to fret wear and cost, but got this beauty of a Desert Gold 360 at a swell price.
Total joy to play for ...

Re: Confused new Rick fan...is this a 370, a 340 or a hybrid?
Again--thanks for all the great advice and help.
If anyone is still reading this thread: looks like this beautiful guitar has some real fret wear, down to about 60% of original shape.
Owner says still has lots of playing time left on it. Haven't seen it in person, but I have my doubts.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies and help--I currently live in Japan so I posted before bed last night and while I guess I was dreaming of sushi and schoolgirls (in no particular order) you guys left some great helpful comments...and the photos really appreciated. Seems to be a quality group here.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply and the Welcome. Appreciated.
I have not seen this guitar in person yet, working off of pictures...and really hope you are right!
Made a mistake loading the previous small shots--here are large res versions. I can not say I see a binding all around, but looks like ...

Confused new Rick fan...is this a 370, a 340 or a hybrid?
Hello.
I have come across this guitar, I really like it, but it confuses me.
To me (and I am pretty new to Rickenbackers) it looks like an unbound 340 body with a bound triangle marker 360/370 neck.
Am told this is an original finish 370 from the mid 1980s, perhaps 1985, by the owner.
