I'm a bit off topic since I'm going to suggest you a transistor amp..
I had a problem similar to your few years ago when I had to buy a practice amp and I had to choose between a cheap valve amp or a 'luxury' transistor one. Obviously a valve amp is better but don't think that the others are so ...

yes it is a dark fireglo..almost no trace of 'yellow' but I like it! I bought the guitar 1year ago and considering it's age it is in an incredible good condition.
