I noticed a Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives thread here and wanted to let you know that I posted a cover song video of MS&HFS song "Old Mexico" from their 'Way Out West' album.

Re: Can one OLD guy record a FAITHFUL COVER of this song?
So far I don't have it on the schedule, but would you have any problem with me posting a video of our collab on 'You Bowed Down'? I hadn't considered it because it's no longer 'One Old Guy' if I put up a joint effort. There is also the matter of screen appearance (if you'd like) and/or proper credit...

Re: We Five
Hi, I put up a YouTube channel where I add a new one of my cover song videos every 5 days. A couple of weeks ago, I put up my video of the We Five song. My 360-12 is plain to hear on the song, but isn't shown on the video. Both of my 360s make plenty of appearances in my other song videos. https://y...

Can one OLD guy record a FAITHFUL COVER of this song?
Maybe....... For the one or two folks who may remember (and care about) my covers website from many years ago, I have put up a YouTube channel where I'm going to post videos of some of the many covers I've done over those years. The channel is not even a week old as of this post. My goal is to post ...

Re: PAUL WILCZYNSKI RETURNS
Welcome back, Paul. Would you be willing to share any info as to your activity during those missing years? The decision to leave one's country for another is (to me anyway) a real major decision. Why Italy? Why now? I moved from SoCal to the Dallas area two and a half years ago. For me, it was mostl...

Bump, in case it's relevant.
What are the odds? I stop here 2 or 3 times a year.

Re: Kenny Vaughn (Marty Stuart band) rocks a Rick
An update, if anyone cares.... I saw Marty and the guys last week on their support tour for their recent album. The gig was in Hollywood. Since Mike Campbell produced the album (and appears on it), I figured I'd bring a 360 upper pick guard for Mike to sign (if he showed up). He showed up. I tried t...

Re: Kenny Vaughn (Marty Stuart band) rocks a Rick
That appears to be a legit 60's 370/12 without a soundhole? :?: Also has a Winfield tailpiece. I wonder if it might be a loaner from the massive Petty / Campbell musical warehouse collection. Seriously, go check out "Way Out West" on Amazon. You can stream the whole album (if you have Pri...

Re: New original tune with my Byrds brothers
Ahh, fickle fame...... I lost my Irish apostrophe AND got my 'f' changed to a second 'k'.
It was great to finally meet Al, Joe, and David and I'm grateful to them for tolerating my screeching attempt at "Let It Be". Thanks for the whole day, guys.............

Kenny Vaughn (Marty Stuart band) rocks a Rick
Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives just released a new CD, "Way Out West". It was produced by Mike Campbell. Apparently, Mike had a bit of Rick influence. Kenny Vaughn, who is normally pickin' a Tele, swaps out for a Rick 12 string during one of the cuts from the new CD. It's great...

Eagles cover posted
Hi, I had a partially recorded song that has been sitting unfinished for 2 years, waiting for some guitar embellishments. I finally wrapped it up yesterday. It's a cover of "Peaceful Easy Feeling". It's the last song on the page at: http://www.beatbyrd.com/misc_covers

Nope. I was talking about the guitar only; not the accessories. I didn't even include the cost of the beach towel......iiipopes wrote:Plus strap, cords, strings, case, etc.beatbyrd wrote:Daily cost of ownership over 3 years is less than 22 cents/day.

Re: Paul Revere / Raiders "Kicks" cover (360-12)
No, I did not have the LA-610 long enough to do any tube rolling; have you done any, yet? Real drummer. Isn't that an oxymoron? For the first question: No, but I talked to the UA folks at the NAMM show. They said that replacement should only be necessary when the sound degrades or there's noi...

Re: Paul Revere / Raiders "Kicks" cover (360-12)
Hey Jeff... I thought your version was great, but I'm also in the '12 string required' camp. That 6 string sounds a little 'surfy' at the end of the song. And BTW, it's no fair using a real drummer!!!! Thanks for the comments, guys. Tom Side question...... did you ever swap out any tubes in the LA-6...

Paul Revere / Raiders "Kicks" cover (360-12)
The two guitars I used were a 360-12 and a Fender Nashville Telecaster. It's the last song on the page at: http://www.beatbyrd.com/misc_covers_2
