Hello all
I have picked up a Road 440 amp (later Rickenbacker) and the effects channel is very weak.
I am looking for a schematic and a user manual if anybody can help. Even a Road 220 would probably do.
Many thanks

Start of the long renovation of my RM1999
I only get to this bit by bit but yesterday I managed to remove the blocks in the bridge route and it’s pickup cavity.
Now looking at the bridge I have it will never cover all the route that was modified in the past for some or other bridge.
I don’t think my China Mall bridge is smaller and I will ...

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
Got some picks from previous owner after he stripped it. The extra 2 extra bridge mount holes aren’t there at this point.

Cast 60’s aluminium bridge
Does anybody have a 60’s cast aluminium bridge they could 3d scan. I would like to have a go at recasting one. Even a bent one as I can manipulate in the software.
I don’t mind paying a small amount for the scan.

That's it then. Frets into the rosewood. I have bought an ebay horseshoe for it whilst I search for any original parts. Luckily I only need the horseshoe and bridge.

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
Just bummed that it wasn’t an original fretless but I did get the answer to my original question, although from a facebook group, that it is a RM1999.
Now should I replace the brazilian rosewood board for bubinga or just go with it realising it’s never going to be original anyway.

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
So from the horses mouth as it were smashing all my false hopes.
On the other hand I have found the answer to my original thread question and it is a RM1999 shipped from the Rickenbacker factory to London on 28 February 1966.
I can now safely fit frets to it.

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
I got this from a vintage catalog http://vintage.catalogs.free.fr/rickenbacker.pdf
Says 33.5” which mine is, rosewood fingerboard which mine is and side dot markers which mine has.
I just don’t want to give up, put frets on, rerout the bridge and ruin a rare instrument

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
I see your point but it only mentions scale length on a 4000 FL and again on the 3 special 30” models.
If it’s the same as all the others why even mention it in the 4000 FL section of that write up.

Re: RM1999 vs 4001S
That’s probably had more than the whole of South Africa ever had.
