I would say most recordings are going to be with toasters. If you have a 12 and don't have them your missing the real Ric sound.

At least with ebay you have a feedback program and most of the time you are buying an item that is in hand, not from a warehouse or has to be ordered. One more thing is that using a heavier gauge string set can wreak the groves the the nut and possible the bridge.

The Ric stings will make a huge difference and that twist can be adjusted out. By the way how much did the tech offer you for it?
