Re: My 78 4001 doesn't fit in new cases

Thanks....black plastic it is. I got the silver vintage case from Robbie at RickySounds in England. Its about £30 more than the standard black plastic case. The thing I don't like about the vintage and black tolex cases is the lack of neck support and protection vs the moulded case. I also tried the ...

My 78 4001 doesn't fit in new cases

I bought one of the silver tolex vintage Ric 4000 series cases and my 78 4001 moves around in it when I carry it around. Does anyone know if the new black plastic moulded 4003 cases will hold my vintage 4001 more snugly and safely? The case it came in was demolished and unusable and not the original ...

Re: 4001 -- New model of the week!

OK, here's my finished 1978 Mapleglo 4001. Thanks to Eden in Oz, I have a vintage 1978 white TRC. Pick guard is from RickySounds. Paul from Sound-Me-Out did the setup and sorted-out the uneven fret wear and the electronics (installed a replacement input jack as the old one was very sloppy). Quiet as ...

Re: Crack The Sky

FYI Crack the Sky fans in the Baltimore vicinity. Two live shows, one at Club 66 in Edgewood Maryland on Thanksgiving Friday and a second show at the Recher Theater on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. Two awesome venues to see a 2.5 hours show chock full of old CTS hits. I'll be opening the show ...

Re: Crack The Sky

Isn't Joe Macre the COOLEST ? !

Great bass chops, personable and easygoing...and the creator of some of the BEST bass licks in music history. There's simply nothing like the Crack The Sky rhythm section. It's what got me hooked on the first album when it came out.

Joe played a Ric for the first two CTS discs. I'll ask him the details and report back.

Re: London Area Bass Tech

Well this may be off topic but...

I have personally involved with CTS for the past 5 years. I was Joe Macre's bass tech for all of their shows since 2007 and am good friends with the entire band. I am proud to have actually hosted a live unplugged show in my home in New Jersey the night before they ...

Re: 4001 -- New model of the week!

I just bought a 78 4001 MG that unfortunately looks a mess but plays beautifully. First order of business was to get a Rickysounds white pickguard. Secondly to replace the TRC with an original white one. Luckily Eden found me and we're swapping my black plexi with silver letters for his late 70's ...

London Area Bass Tech

Hi
I need some electronics and setup help with my 78 4001. Whoever owned it before me had done a pretty major hack job to the pot and pickup wiring and I'd like it checked-out (there's a loose wire so definitely somethings wrong).

Anyone able to recommend a superior Ric bass tech in Central London ...
