Is there a quick way to tell Ric Roundwound strings

Hi there, i'm trying to sort the haystack of used and old strings i have. In between them there is something like two / three sets of almost unused Ric Roundwound strings ... is there a way to tell them from the other brands ? I know they are quite similar if not identical to D'Addario Roundwounds ...

Re: New Jetglo purchase

Congrats on you geddeeee.

I'm also a jetglo owner, a 2008 to be precise. I've just played seconds ago and i'm still amazed how great is this bass.

I'd like to buy a post 2010, i've heard nothing but good things about it, but being a lefty i know that i will have to wait a long time ...

bigbajo60, thanks for the suggestions.

I've found this guy...

He's nailing totally the Macca tone with LaBella 760FX and mute ... I'm really impressed.

Re: Rickenbacker Flatwounds

On my 4001 i already tried TI Flats, i found them to be great tone-wise, but in all sets i mounted (both in the rick or in my p bass) i experienced that the E string was sounding differently (in a bad way) from the others.

Now on my 4003 i have Chromes Flats, those strings are more hi-tension than ...

Great tone from your Rick. The response seem even on all the strings, and overall you have a really fat E !!

4003 action / truss rod question

Hi all there.

Last week i purchased an used 4003 (2008) from a local music store.

As i tried the bass at the store i noticed the action was rather high, but the bass guy told me that their luthier had just set up the bass, so i guessed that their luthier is the classic guy thinking that ricks ...

Re: 4001 V63 Specs over the years

Seem that a lot of people seem uncomfortable with reverse headstock.

Talking about reverse headstock, y luthier told me that probably the E string would suffer of the reverse headstock because of the diminuished length between the nut and the keywind, but hearing Mc Cartney recordings (for example ...

Re: Rickenbacker vs Fender (Side by Side)

Talking about similarities between rick and jazz bass, i've found that they sound similar in the bridge position, if played with fingers near the bridge. From both you can obtain a beautiful "jaco"esque tone ... last year i played a gig this way and the keyboard player (which was totally unaware of ...
