Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
The nut is about 1/16". I already attached the replacement TRC anyway.

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
Even if I left the TRC in this position with the gap, I would still have to drill a hole for the third screw (I don't think I want to use two sided tape or a dummy screw head), so I figured that since I am drilling I might as well try to fit it the best I can.

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
Here is a photo of the gap between the TRC and nut. I think this weekend I will try to refit the TRC by filling and drilling. Wish me luck.
By the way, I'm still working on getting an upper pickguard and replacement tuner.

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
Thanks guys. I guess I'll give it a try.
If I can indulge you guys a little more, while I was trying to fit the TRC on my headstock, I noticed that the shaft on one of the tuners is slotted while the others have holes for the strings to go through. Actually I had noticed this years ago but had ...

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
Here is an update on my TRC issue:
I bought a vintage TRC online for $250. Unfortunately, the holes don't quite line up. When I attach the cover, on the nut side there is a small gap, and on the far side, the single hole is off about 1/16" (the existing hole is covered by the plate). When I ...

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
I contacted Ira Marlowe and bought the TRC that he had previously listed. I am awaiting shipment. My next task is to find a replacement for my missing upper pick guard. I see that Rickenbacker offers this part (and screws) on their site. Will this work with my 1968 model or should I look for a ...

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
Thanks. Unfortunately I had already put a bid of $75 on the one currently on ebay. Hopefully this won't hold up. When I tried to contact the other seller (expired auction), ebay gave me a warning. Do you guys have his email address?

Re: 360/12 truss rod cover
Here are some pictures of my 360/12. The serial # is 570 HC. I purchased the Ric-O_Sound in the 1980's.

360/12 truss rod cover
I am new to the forum. I have a 1968 360/12 that I purchased used some time in the early 1980's. I bought it from a music shop in Northern Virginia when I used to live in DC. Unfortunately, the truss rod cover was missing when I bought it. The salesman clued me in to how difficult it is to get these ...
