I once had a MIJ Fender 5 string. It was really good. I actually wish I kept it, but that extra string just wasn't for me. It wasn't a 5 string Jazz bass, but it did have the J-style PU's. BTW, I've noticed on a lot of 5 strings, especially cheaper makes, the B string tends to be too floppy. Is that...

Stay away from 8-tracks. They self destruct after thirty years. After a while, cassette tapes will do the same. I have an 8-track player, and a bunch of 8-track tapes that I bought very cheaply at estate sales/garage sales. I probably threw out more than I have due to them either being eaten up by t...

Still lookin' for the Fender BXR 2x15 cabinet. I just recently found out they were made for 5 years only: from 1988-1992. I've been scouring Ebay, and to no avail, nothing. EXCEPT one that wanted local pickup from California. I live in New York State, and need it shipped. Just checking in on anyone ...

I used to have a solid state practice amp that did that. An SWR LA12, the first generation, to be exact. I'd turn it on to get a high pitched squeek that would shrill your bones. I had a headphone adaptor that I'd leave in the headphone jack to mute the speaker, then leave it in when the amp is not ...

I would say Cliff Burton's bass solo. Especially the version he did live on Metallica's Cliff'Em All video, which he actually did with his 4001 with the stock Hi-Gains.

Ever smear a fudge brownie on your hands, reach under the stall's wall, and ask the person next to you for extra toilet paper? I did that once in high school. You should have seen how fast he ran! Image

I never knew Target sold effect pedals. But then again, I rarely step foot in Target.

I have decided on trying to find the BXR 2x15 cabinet. If anyone knows of one of these for sale, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I would love to have one of these to match my BXR 200 head.

Thanks.

As a bass player, it HAS to be the BXR series. I currently have the BXR 200 watt head, and I am looking for a matching 2x15" BXR speaker cabinet to go with. On Ebay, there's plenty BXR combo's, but the speaker enclosures are very rare to come by. I also have a '66 Bassman head, and early-mid 70...

Sorta reminds me of the similar thread over at jacopastorius.com forum. Check out how HUGE that thread became. It's over 200 pages of discussions.
