Re: Gretsch Bar Bridge and Intonation

Intonation on a guitar is an approximation at best, so I don't really worry about a bar bridge. Les Pauls had wrap around bar bridges in the early to mid 50s and I certainly would kick one those out of the house due to less-than-perfect intonation. Tru-Arc bridges are a fine offering.

Re: Patiently Waiting for a Country Club

These photos don't really do justice to the finish, as it appears more metallic than it really is. As cool looking as the SynchroSonic Melita bridge is, it rattles and I'm thinking it's also robbing sustain. I may go with a TruArc. The Dynas sound great. I'm still dialing them in, but they sound muc...

Re: Patiently Waiting for a Country Club

The guitar arrived today and to my surprise & delight it's the olive green version of Caddy Green, not the blue-green metallic shade that I thought it to be. I kept looking at it indoors wondering which shade I had gotten. It was obvious once I took it outdoors to see in direct sunlight. The gui...

Patiently Waiting for a Country Club

My new (to me) Cadillac Green Country Club is on it's way to me via USPS. It's the Dyna'Sonic version with a spruce top and hump block markers. A previous owner wisely replaced the G-cut tailpiece with a Bigsby. Can't wait.

I'll be anxious to see this. Scorsese is an excellent film-maker and Harrison is a fascinating topic.

That's a beautiful guitar. I love the look and feel of the 620/660 style Rickenbackers. Congratulations.

This is the way i have always played it in single guitar bands.
Sounds (& looks) right to me. In early videos it's the form Campbell uses on a Tele.

Re: So why do you pick one Ric over another?

I purchased my 660-12 after learning that model had a 1 3/4" nut width. I'd tried 330-12s and 360-12s, but it was impossible for me to play them. The 660 has exceeded expectations. It's an excellent guitar in every aspect.

Re: Serial Number Location on a 660-12

Thanks guys. Is there a secret decoder ring that tells me when my 660 was made?
