Re: Marketplace Forum Restriction For New Members
I wonder, though, how many members of this forum would like to reach some of us newbs in order to make a sale. Seems like it hurts established members more in that regard. I don't know; it makes it kind of cool, like buying a samurai sword or something and having to prove yourself to the guy who ma...

Re: Knobs on a Janglebox
Has anyone got any suggestions for a type of knob that would slot right on and would be easy to see? You might want to consider the MXR-style knobs from PedalPartsPlus.com. They're available in two sizes, have set-screws, and have high-contrast markings. Plus, I think they look pretty cool--I've us...

Re: How Cool!
My pessimism is showing ... would it be possible for the photographer to be using something akin to a "green screen" technique to get such a precise fit of the small picture? It would be trivially easy to do it with Photoshop, plus that would explain the uniform focus of objects in such a...

Re: New Rics vs Old
I think the vintage thing makes more sense for Fender/Gibson instruments, where the quality of the product has noticeably declined through the years. I'd be MUCH more comfortable buying a new 360 than a new 335, for example, and if I was in the market for an SG I'd definitely try to get one that'd b...

Re: Any "no effects"/"effects challenged" types lurking here?
That said, I do like to play around with effects at home every once in awhile, but only in a novelty sort of way. Gigs are strictly no-pedal affairs.... pedals = problems and more setup, from my experience. That's been my rationale for years. I hate introducing additional variables--as soon as I re...

I'm not authorized to view it yet. I need to make 100 posts first. Is it a D or a C? How much does the seller want?

Re: Significant difference in sustain between 620 and 650?
I don't notice any difference in the amount of sustain, but the neck on the 650 is much wider than the 620. Interesting... I've always liked the narrow neck on my 620--it's one of my favorite features, in fact. Perhaps an HB install is the way to go. Thanks for all the insightful comments, everyone!

Re: Significant difference in sustain between 620 and 650?
Somebody who has both models 620 and 650 will have to A-B 'em, on the same amp settings, to verify on the sustain issue for you. I've got this Rick neurosis going on right now in which I can't stop thinking I need a 650, but since I can't find one in Oregon, I've got to just imagine the difference ...

Significant difference in sustain between 620 and 650?
Does anyone know if there's any significant difference in sustain from a 620 compared to a 650? I'm mainly curious about the effect the different bridges might have--I'm thinking about switching to a 650...

Re: My 12 String On Jazz Chorus
Dollar for dollar, probably the best money I've ever spent on gear. (Disclosure: it was only $150, but I'd pay twice that in a heartbeat). I definitely agree. You can get them used for a song, and they almost never seem to break. I've used mine on and off for years and always end up going back to it.

Re: when is a rick noob "officially" an owner?
I'm going to say it happens when you discover that the Ric you own (that you pined over forever and finally got) does not, in fact, cover all the bases, and you realize that you need another Ric model (which to virtually everyone else in your life is totally similar).

Re: Your studio/stage setup?
Don't sell yourself short, that JC-120 is an industry standard staple for a reason. I love mine, and there isn't a finer stereo chorus out there that I've ever heard. Sure the on board distortion is pretty awful, but whose wasn't in those days? If you get a chance, the Radial Classic Overdrive is a...
