Left hand technique

Hi gents, not sure if I already asked about whether you finger with the tips or flats of your fretting fingers. I started a year and half ago being shown to finger with the flats or pads of my fingers. At the Aebersold camp last summer they pushed me to get on my tips, tough to do, should I change?

Jazz Camp Experience

Hey Gents, Back from the 1 week Jamie Aebersold Jazz camp in Kentucky. One of my toughest weeks in memory. I ended on a positive note and learned quite a bit. I have only been at the bass for 15 months (6 with my '83 4003) and I was a bit over my head. Been playing a few jazz charts with my band but ...

Mp3 live recording

Hey gents, I want to start some recording of my band and some of the playing experiences on the upcoming trip to the jazz music camp. Some of the mp3 players (iriver H10) have voice mic's and line in jacks for recording. Assuming modest fidelity goals, has anybody had experiences or recommendations ...

Airline Travel Case Question

hey all, what about airline travel? I am going to a Jazz camp in Louisville from California in June. I have my original hard case for the 4003 which can check as regular baggage. I prefer to take my well padded gig bag for mobility once I am there. American Airlines says the bass in the gig bag ...
