Cheapest place to replace strap bolts?
I managed to lose the bolts from the mute of my 4001, so I'm trying to replace them. I've found them being sold on plenty of websites but they all end up costing at least $50AUD including postage to Australia. I just feel like a bit of an idiot paying $50 for a couple of bolts, so I was hoping someo...

Funny story...
My band, Teleprompter, just recorded our first EP in Brisbane at Gasworks Studios. As I was playing my 4001 (thanks Eden), Willy was watching really intently. Willy was this older, slightly batty guy who pretty much ran the studio, but wasn't helping out on our recordings. We were having a smoke out...

Sorry, I don't know how to save a photo off a Flash thingy, but here are some really recent photos of my band, Teleprompter, playing the Parklife festival in Brisbane. (photo numbers 197-205) http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/media/listen.htm?show=jukebox&xmlUrl=/triplej/media/xml/s3018991.xml&m...

I played with these guys on the Big Day Out tour in Australia this year. I was anticipating them to be typical knobish rockstars in person, but they turned out to be really friendly.

Re: Aussie Roll Call
Thanks to Eden, I'm now the proud owner of a JG 4001. I'm from the cultural back-water of Brisbane, where I've only ever seen two other locals playing Rickenbackers.

Thanks for the welcome, Greg. Now, if I could only find a JG 4003 and be a legitimate member.

Re: Chances of repairing a bowed 4003 neck?
Hi Joshua,
I like your thinking, but I'm not sure I have the prowess or the nerve required to tinker with a Rick. I'd be too scared of catastrophically breaking it. I know it's an unlikely scenario, but I think I'd rather leave it to the pros.

Thanks Brett. I'm a bit worried that it could be a broken trussrod, so I've given up on that bass. Now, to Ebay!

Re: Chances of repairing a bowed 4003 neck?
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. The reason it's not setup properly is that it's being sold on consignment, so I'd have to pay for the setup. Trouble is that I don't think I'm ready to gamble on having to replace the truss rods since he's already asking a relatively high price for the bass. You ...
