It would not be ethical for a dealer to spring the price rise on a guitar ordered at the old price on which a customer has already agreed the price and put a deposit down. If a dealer tried this the very least they should do is offer a refund on your deposit.

My guess is that many dealers will ...

I just couldn't let her go

So, last June I got a 381v69/12MG. For the first five months I just couldn't get into the 12 string thing and decided to sell her and get a six stringer. I advertised and got a several offers and had a buyer all lined up. Then I got her out to 'dust down', started playing and the whole deal was off ...

Bob, one other thing to consider is whether you would ever want clean headroom for those mad I don't care about the neighbours anymore moments. To me, there is nothing better than a good valve amp working hard at clean levels. I've not tried the Emery microbaby but have owned a Univalve. This is a ...

I actually find that attenuators degrade the sound a little too much for my liking, having tried both a Hotplate and an Airbrake. The other thing to consider when trying to get 'that' sound is that speakers play a major part in how they compress and break up the sound and often using a high quality ...

I think the band is great and always try to catch them when they are touring. However, I recently bought the '94 Astoria DVD and realised why I like them so much; when they put away their sequencers and gadgets and go for a straight out three guitar assault. Thom's voice was incredible back then.

A few years back I had the good fortune to meet John Waters and he eagerly discussed the Pink Floyd's early years. It struck me just how much he admired Syd and seemed to have a genuine affection for him. Perhaps he was one of the few people that truly understood Syd.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the greeting.

The Carr Rambler comes equipped with 6L6's, but as the amp is cathode bias it will run 6V6's, KT66's, EL37's et al without re-biasing. I guess the option of 6V6 will reduce the headroom/power even more if that is what is desired.

I have a number of amps ...

Jim - I have a Carr Rambler which puts out 27 watts in pentode mode and 14 watts triode mode. Pentode very much like a Blackface sound with lots of 'real world' headroom and Triode has more a Tweed era vibe, breaking up nicely without swamping the band. Great reverb and tremolo as well. This could ...
