Thanks all for replying. And howdy, Ron! I sent you a Facebook friend request just recently. Thanks for accepting, and now thanks here for chiming in.
Looks like the "case" has been solved, and it's the "real RicCoy"! (ugh, don't worry I hate myself too sometimes).
I'll see if the seller will agree ...

Re: Rickenbacker case identification?
Thanks, Jeffrey. i have a 1975 4001, so a 1970s case should be perfect.
The case interior looks similar to the ones of these Ricks from 1976 (just a different color plush):

Rickenbacker case identification?
Hi all,
Looking at buying a hardshell bass case that the seller claims is a late-1970s Rick one, but isn't certain. The exterior looks right, but usually the interior of these is purple, and the accessories compartment extends all the way to the left of the inside (which is how my mid-70s case was ...

Re: Selmer Little Giant
I got one about 4-5 years ago. They're cute...I'd love to have 'em all like an old radio collection. So teeny, my mom brought it back from Europe in her purse!

I've said elsewhere, this is exactly how every group should look and sound.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Koobas
Especially if you like Rose Morrises (correct plural? or is it Rosicrusciae morrisi?)

And there's more of them on YouTube too. Ace British beat band, with loads of good songs.

Re: The Fall
I'm not such a fan of their work in general BUT "Live at the Witch Trials" is definitely in my top 40 list of LPs. Amazing sound, like nothing I've ever confronted. The drums are pounding hard and crazy in front of the mix and the jangly guitar is almost in the background, very unusual for that era ...

Re: Radio Birdman
Non-Rick trivia.... it is rumoured that Tek's Crestwood was the owned by Fred "Sonic" Smith of the MC5.
I don't think it was just rumour. Tek said so himself. At least I have the book on Radio Birdman and there's some kinda quote in there regarding the instrument's ownership history. Also ...

Re: Mike Wilhelm and his '54 Country Club
Love Clubs (glad to be a member!), and I think they're a decent-value Gretsch model with not-too-inflated prices (maybe because George H. didn't play one?). Just a classic archtop design, and nice bursts.

Or, more apropos to this forum (especially to me): "I play the guitar, I taught myself how to play the guitar, which was a bad decision... because I didn't know how to play it, so I was a s****y teacher."
