I agree with you completely. There is a photo of a young Eddie Alkire holding one of these Rickenbacher ten strings. I would guess the photo is before Epiphone, Valco and Gibson came out with their ten string instruments. I don't know how to attach photos at present. I didn't purchase the Gbase inst...

I spotted this a few days ago and have resisted all temptation so far. I thought I'd pass it along for you to see. The price is too high, but they don't come up for sale very often.
