Re: New bass day! Gibson semi-hollow content....

Pretty different. VERY clear & defined. Also, it's a 34" scale as opposed to the short scale EB3. No mudbucker....that neck pickup is actually a TB plus. It has an amazing rich & powerful tone with booming lows & zingy highs. I am so in love with this bass right now it's not even fu...

Re: A Tweak to Far

My '74 has a very similar repaired crack. Dunno exactly when it was damaged & who repaired it & when, but it hasn't budged since I bought it in 1986, and it's been through hell & back with me. I'm always scared it'll separate again...
Good luck with the repair sir.

New bass day! Gibson semi-hollow content....

I've had this on order since November & it finally showed up last Friday. It's the Limited Edition Gibson Midtown Standard bass. A modern take on the old EB-2D. Actually a chambered mahogany body with a solid core & a maple top. It sounds absolutely amazing. Seriously good. I believe Ronn Ro...

Re: truss cover and guard cloro options on a 76 RIC 3000

I have a 1978 3001 that I just love. Even more so than my 4001 or 4003. They don't tend to get a lot of love out there...

I am lusting after your Azureglo one!! Nice collection sir.

Deep Purple (Glenn Hughes) Burn isolated track.

Yeah, the picture is wrong, but a nice isolation track of the bass track "Burn" from Deep Purple. Sweet 4001 goodness!
I'm a huge Hughes fan....

Re: Bass Tech in Atlanta - Recommendations?

Sorry I'm really late to this thread/question, but I live in Atlanta & use a guy named Bryan Lilje. He's in the Decatur/Atlanta area. He's done work on my 1978 3001 & just recently finished installing a new nut & a doing nice setup on my 1974 4001. He's really good. His number is 404-694...

I believe it's actually the original Quiet Riot bassist Kelly Garni.
